New Site – planeteureka.com – Inventors rejoice

PlanetEureka.com just did a soft launch. According to their description, the site will help inventors that have an invention, patented or not, find a partner to sell, give away or joint venture with.

Sounds like an interesting idea, , but there is hardly anything to see on their website. Hopefully I will be able to get into the site soon so I can give you my thoughts as to how valuable the site is.

New site – Tripwolf.com – Travel site with Web 2.0 hooks.

Still in Private Beta, I got an invitation and checked it out. It is a travel site with a social networking features. Travelers leave feedback, and the user can see pictures from other users and try to figure out what the location they are thinking traveling to looks and feels like.

There are sections for messages, favorites to save, my friends (of course, how can it be a Web 2.0 sites without my friends), gallery, and even a journal that you can keep.

But the neat thing is it has a map of the world with icons/pictures that you can click to see some info on those destinations. There are not too many, but I am assuming once people start to use it, this will fill up very quickly.

There is a fair amount of pseudo-editorial content put in by locals. If you really think about it, this is how we select things in real life, we ask friends, they tell us their experience and if they know some local that has a good idea, then you talk to him to get the inside scoop.

I don’t know how useful or “every-day” type of use this will be, but I will try it for a while and if I see something new, I’ll fill you in.
